Golden Vineyard
Redwood Valley, Mendocino County
Golden Vineyards was established in 1996 and encompasses 1,000 acres above Redwood Valley, of which only 35 acres are vineyards.   The property protects the headwaters of several major tributary creeks to the Russian River, both of which support salmon and steelhead.   As part of the management of the property, Jerry Yates, vineyard manager, has focused on soil conservation and had the site certified as both organic and biodynamic.   The Golden Family are third generation farmers in Mendocino County and are dedicated to using environmentally sound practices to grow grapes, to promote wildlife habitat on their property and to pass this legacy onto their children and future generations.
